Project Outcome
Sprinklers Direct was appointed to support the extension and refurbishment of Mansfield Heights in Haringey, comprising three residential blocks dating back to the 1950s. Originally designed by the Metropolitan Police Architects Department to accommodate police housing, the development required a carefully planned approach to upgrading fire safety within the constraints of the existing buildings.
The project involved the retrofitting of a residential sprinkler system throughout the properties, requiring close coordination with other trades to ensure the design and installation of the sprinkler pipework integrated effectively with existing structural elements and building services. Our team worked meticulously to overcome the challenges associated with retrofitting older residential buildings, ensuring the installation was completed with minimal disruption to residents. Particular care was taken to protect residents’ personal belongings, with our engineers maintaining a professional, approachable and considerate manner throughout the works.
The bespoke sprinkler system is supplied by a dedicated sprinkler pump and tank and comprises over 100 sprinkler heads and eight electronically monitored zone valves, providing fire protection across the residential development.
