Lowlands Road in Harrow is a development which was the refurbishment, converting an existing office building into a block of 73 residential flats.

The historic building offered a great challenge to our team as they had to navigate not only the ground to fourth floor, but they also needed to take into consideration that the ground floor was split into 2x detached buildings with a central double height open area with the upper floors spanning across the full site. Our engineers skillfully navigated the pipe work above this communal space to feed across the space into the adjacent blocks ground and mezzanine floors to serve all flats. Using a combination of 4 different sized pipes, hydraulically calculated for best results to reduce the flow & pressure demands of the system, our team was able to provide full cover to the refurb by using a total of 239 heads. A number of separate sprinkler risers were installed with zone valve per floor, per riser arrangement, starting off in the plant room after the combined pump, tank and priority demand valve tee off.
